Gerald Strohmaier holds an Executive MBA from the Danube University Krems and a degree in Sociology from the University of Vienna. Gerald began his HR career at Bene GmbH in 1996, subsequently advancing to senior finance roles before fully transitioning back into HR leadership in 2011. As Vice President of Human Resources for 15 years at Valneva SE, he was responsible not only for the Austrian subsidiary's operations but also for shaping global HR strategy, driving transformation projects, and implementing digital HR initiatives across six countries (Austria, Canada, France, Scotland, Sweden and the U.S.) until 2024. Since October 2024, he served as Managing Director of GWS Unternehmensberatung, advising clients on personnel strategy, organizational structures and process optimization.
As AOP Health Chief People Officer (CPO), Gerald is responsible for shaping organizational development, driving engagement, and aligning AOP Health's people strategy with company objectives, underscoring the commitment to innovation, inclusion, and employee well-being. He oversees AOP Health's HR departments including: Employee Experience and People Analytics, Talent Acquisition and Business Partners.
