International Pharma Expertise for Sustainable Growth

Vienna, July 30th 2025. With the appointment of Jean-Michel Quinot, AOP Health strengthens its global leadership team with an internationally experienced manager. The French-born executive took on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in April 2025 and brings extensive expertise to a phase of strategic transformation. His priorities include ambitious expansion targets through 2030, notably the planned entry into the U.S. market and the company’s evolution into a global pharmaceutical group. With this appointment, AOP Health underscores its commitment to growing internationally as a European specialist in rare diseases and intensive care medicine.

As COO and member of the Corporate Executive Committee (CEC), Quinot focuses on strengthening operational excellence, harmonizing core processes, and building clear communication structures. “We need to reduce complexity while keeping our teams motivated. This requires a clear vision and respectful leadership,” says Quinot.

Leading with purpose

For Quinot, people are at the center of every business decision, which is why he sees himself as a team developer above all: “I want to ensure that my teams grow – professionally, personally, and in terms of responsibility.”

In his view, effective leadership requires team spirit, clarity, and the ability to think long term. Quinot emphasizes that, particularly in a company evolving from a research-intensive mid-sized player into a global provider, orientation is crucial: “Everyone should know where we want to go.“ Equally important to him is making a tangible contribution to patient care. He explains:

A Global Track Record

Jean-Michel Quinot’s career spans leadership roles across Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. Pivotal stages included his tenure as Managing Director at Bristol-Myers Squibb and later as CEO of Nordic Pharma. In Switzerland, he founded and scaled the successful generics company Amring International – an experience he now brings to AOP Health.

“I’m an entrepreneur at heart. I’m inspired by fresh ideas, international diversity, and a clear contribution to medical progress,” Quinot says. His determination to shape and lead was most recently reflected in his work with start-ups – before AOP Health brought him into its executive leadership.
