Rare Diseases Expert AOP Health Expands Leadership Team

To support its ambitious growth agenda, AOP Health is expanding its leadership team. The company has appointed three new Vice Presidents in key strategic areas: Zoltán Magyarics will lead Research & Development, Bernhard Seiser will oversee IT & Digital, and Nicola Zancan takes on responsibility for the EMEA region.

These appointments reflect AOP Health’s commitment to bringing integrated therapies to patients with unmet medical needs while preparing the company for further international growth - including its entry into the US market. Strengthening the leadership team ensures that AOP Health’s pipeline, digital infrastructure, and regional operations are aligned with its long-term strategy.

Nicola Zancan appointed Vice President EMEA

Nicola Zancan has been appointed Vice President EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), a newly created role. Zancan previously served as General Manager for AOP Health Italy, where he successfully established the company’s presence in the Italian market, building a trusted brand in intensive care and rare diseases while forging strong partnerships with key opinion leaders and health authorities. Continuing as Area Director Europe South, his oversight included operations in France, Spain, Portugal, and Greece. With his extensive international experience, Zancan’s promotion reflects AOP Health’s strategic focus on regional growth. The company aims to drive organic expansion, laying the groundwork for future research and development in rare diseases. 

Bernhard Seiser assumes role as Vice President IT & Digital

Bernhard Seiser has assumed the new role of Vice President IT & Digital. In his capacity as VP, Seiser ensures that AOP Health’s IT initiatives and digital capabilities are aligned with the company’s strategic mission: to advance therapies in rare diseases and intensive care. Looking towards the future, his goal is to build a modern IT and digital organization which fosters innovation, enhances efficiency, and evolves in step with the company’s growth. His priorities include establishing a secure, scalable global IT infrastructure, building a resilient data platform, and integrating responsible AI applications - all driven by a skilled and forward-thinking IT and digital team.

Zoltán Magyarics strengthens AOP Health as Vice President Research & Development

Zoltán Magyarics has recently joined AOP Health as Vice President Research & Development. As a trained immunologist and physician, he now leads the strategic direction of the company’s drug development and oversees multidisciplinary teams managing the full development process - from preclinical research through to regulatory approval and beyond. His focus is on strengthening lifecycle management and accelerating the development of new products by fostering internal collaboration, driving digital innovation, and advancing operational excellence. His appointment reinforces AOP Health’s ambition to continuously evolve its research and development capabilities in support of long-term growth.
