ABCB5+ mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC)

AMESANAR® allogeneic ABCB5-positive mesenchymal stromal cells (commonly known as stem cells), isolated from human skin tissue, are used for the local treatment of chronic venous ulcers resulting from chronic venous insufficiency (CVI).

A prerequisite for treatment is that patients have already undergone standard therapeutic procedures in accordance with guidelines, including surgical or endovenous treatment of the underlying condition.

Intensive research on stromal cells has been conducted worldwide for years, but only a few products have made it to clinical use so far. AMESANAR® is only the second somatic cell product to receive national marketing authorization from the Paul Ehrlich Institute (PEI) for clinical use in Germany.
