AOP Health shines the spotlight on Women in Science.

Vienna, 10.02.2023,  on International Women and Girls in Science Day, we had the opportunity to highlight the women in science who make up over 70% of our research and development work force. The scientists gathered for a group photo and a heartfelt exchange, and enjoyed the chance to see their colleagues in the same place.

The women spoke about what inspires them, their experience working in science, and the paths that led them to a career working in research and development.

Thinking outside the box

In discussions throughout the morning, the women emphasized solution-oriented “thinking outside the box” and scientific creativity as their way of working, and as a requirement for preclinical development. Others focused on the advantages of having a flexible working environment and working in a multicultural organization as a foundation for a positive career trajectory. They also discussed the satisfaction they earn from working specifically in the field of rare diseases and critical care, and how they find designing approaches for clinical studies of severely ill patients as meaningful and highly motivational.
